Collaboration requires finding common ground. Solution Groups are designed to help individuals hold their personal ideals while discovering where they overlap with others. Once common ground is established, things can really start cooking!
Even if common ground interests are found, all groups need agreements that all can follow to insure they stay on track with expectations all have. Before any planning begins, groups design their own rules of engagement -- with optional ideas from WetheP, if they get stuck or want more.
Agreements are critical, but can feel uncomfortable since they require people to negotiate their personal wants and desires with others. WetheP helps groups process through in ways all can see the value.
After making agreements on what, how and when they'll work on their shared effort, the group is set to do the fun part: planning!
This phase can take a little more time, but is also one of the funnest parts of the process! And, informative as groups get creative about how they make change happen.
Solution Groups are given a number of fun exercises to choose from as they go from brainstorming their ideas to deciding which to do and then scheduling their plan.
You'll be surprised how soon the time is right for action!
Groups are supported in announcing and executing their plan where ever they've decided it is needed. The lights will quickly 'go on' as both members and others clearly see how they really can and are making a difference!
Change always results in new lessons and ways of thinking--even for the change makers. Solution Groups are invited to reflect on their effort after their public launch.
Most will find themselves proud of their work. Many will decide to take their success and new experience into more efforts!
